I have been working for a Ballroom in Miami for 15
years. The following is the way I entertain and host an event, following
this order I have 2 to 2 ½ hours for "Dancing."
I hope this gives you an idea as to how to start your party, remember
these are only suggestions tips. You may have your party hosted
as you wish, to your convenience.
1.) Half an hour before the guests arrive I play slow instrumental
music
Example "Carravelli, interpreter Julio Iglesias"
2.) Once the bride, groom, and couples have arrived I line them
up in the order by the list given to me. (I play a song by Raul
D'Blasio, so the guests are joyful as the court walks in)
- The parents of the bride
- The parents of the groom
- Flower girl
- Ringbearer
- The court couples
- Maide of honor / Best man
- The bride and groom
When the bride and groom walk I play the "Wedding
March".
3.) Once every one has entered the ballroom I prepare to play
the dance songs.
- The bride and father
- The married couple
- The groom with his mother
- The dance for couples
The last two dances are not traditional only optional.
4.) Once the dance is finished I play a background music for
the toast. The toast is led by the godfather or bestman of the
wedding or someone very close to the married couple.
5.) Then, we have the photos and videos taken.
6.) Once the photos are taken we proceed to dinner.
During dinner I play a background music of romantic classic
songs.
7.) When dinner is over, I announce the cake will be cut.
I play a romantic song and the bride cuts the cake.
8.) Once the cake is cut, we proceed to the pulling of the brides
stocking band
I call on the married couple to the center of the ballroom
and the groom pulls of her stocking band..
9.) I call the single women to the dance floor for the tossing
of the bouquet with background music of "Girls just wanna
have fun" by Cindy Lauper.
10.) After that I call the single men with backgroung music of
"Macho Man" by Village People.
11.) The gentelman that got the garter will have to place it
on the lady who caught the bouquet.
Music " Pink Panther" to make it fun I cover the
gentelman's eyes and place a man before him.
12.) I announce the dollar dance, if the married couple wish.
I use a popular song for this dance......
13.) After the dollar dance is over, to begin the party I keep
the married couple in the center of the ballroom and call the
guest to da a conga dance with them around the ballroom.
14.) And the party begins
I hope you have fun.....
